  20. I'm running the SGI Beta.  I have nothing to compare to,  but have heard
  21. that it runs a little less than P-90 speed (?).  The multi-tasking seems
  22. rock solid with unix, but I'm proably going to get an alpha anyway.  Here's
  23. why:
  24. PC/Mac programs that are ported to SGI undergo a mysterious transformation:

  26.   -They double in price
  27.   -They lose functionality
  28.   -3rd Plugins rarely make the transition (& if they do, they double in price)
  29.  
  30. I'm certainly willing for someone to prove me wrong,  but check out SGI
  31. versions of Photoshop & DeBabelizer.  Also Lightwave has the symptoms.
